IITPK claims to have the best success ratio in Pune and as they have mentioned on their website, this is their ‘tradition’. We at Pune Jago IIT JEE , wanted to know how true this claim is and therefore we made an in depth analysis of the results achieved by IITPK in the recent years. Here is what we observed, IITPK never mentions the ranks or the percentile of the students. The only way of displaying results that they follow is a document uploaded on their website that has the list of the names of the students and the stream that have selected. Now the question here arises is, without the percentile or ranks, what is the degree of authenticity of these results shown to the students/parents?
Every student has the right to know about the past performance of the coaching class that he is considering joining. We wanted to calculate the success rate of IIT Praskishan Kendra as per their website. We are making an educated guess that they have total 800 students studying with them.
- Looking at the list from their website, they have a total of 27 students selected into the IITs including all courses and all the IITs.
True Success rate of IITPk = 27/800 * 100 %
True Success rate of IITPk = 3.4 %
hence, when the true success rate of IITPk is just 3.4 %, their claim of Best Success rate is a fake claim.
2. They have claimed that 1 in 3 IITians of Pune are from IIT Praskishan Kendra (IITPK). This claim is fake and they have provided no data to prove this. We analyzed this in detail and total number of selections in IITs from Pune in the last year 2020 was 571 and the number of selections from IIT Praskishan Kendra (IITPK) was just 27. This is 1 out of 20 selections in JEE Advanced from Pune. Comparing this with the number of students appearing from IIT Pk in JEE Main and Advanced which is around 800, this result is very poor and far below the average rate of selections from premier institutes of Pune, M Prakash Academy and Bakliwal Tutorials.
This analysis raises some questions, when IITPK is clearly not sharing their real result with students and parents. Making False claims about the their number of selections and success rate, we can’t be sure of the service they are going to provide to students after they take admissions.
