In the highly competitive realm of JEE coaching institutes, making informed choices is pivotal for a student’s success. Our recent scrutiny of IIT Prashikshan Kendra (IITPK) reveals a consistent pattern of misleading claims over the years, raising doubts about the institute’s transparency and credibility in the context of IIT JEE, JEE Main, and JEE Advanced preparation.
Unveiling the Illusion of Success:
IITPK boldly asserts itself as having the highest success rate in Pune for JEE Main and JEE Advanced, yet a closer inspection of their website reveals a stark absence of essential details such as rankings and percentiles.
According to their website, we wanted to determine the IIT Prashikshan Kendra’s success rate. For 2022, we’re estimating that they have 800 students learning with them overall. Looking at the list on their website, they have a total of 26 students selected for the IITs, including all courses and all the IITs.
The True Success rate of IITPk = 20/800 * 100 % = 2.5%
Hence, when the true success rate of IITPk is just 2.5%, contradicting their claim of the ‘Best Success Rate.’
They have claimed that 1 in 3 IITians of Pune are from IIT Praskishan Kendra (IITPK). This claim is also fake, and they have provided no data to prove this. Their website has little or no details of the students that they claim to have selected in IITs.
We also analysed this in detail, and the total number of selections in IITs from IITPK in 2023 was only 23 out of which none got CSE on old IITs. Comparing this with the number of students appearing from IITPK in JEE Main and Advanced, which is around 800, this result is very poor and far below the average rate of selections from the premier institutes of Pune, M Prakash Academy, and Bakliwal Tutorials.
Unraveling Misrepresentation of Rankings:
Further scrutiny brings to light IITPK’s blatant misrepresentation of student rankings, where category ranks are misleadingly presented as general ranks in the context of IIT JEE exams. This not only erodes trust but also raises questions about the institute’s commitment to providing accurate information to students and parents seeking JEE coaching in Pune.
Most importantly, it is observed that iiTPK blatantly claims their student category ranks as their general ranks. For example, their student, Gaurav Dalvi, whom they claim to be AIR 134, is not actually AIR 134; rather, his category rank is 134. The Actual AIR 134 is Saarth Singla from Chandigarh, The Indian Express even published an article regarding the same.
Exposing the Smoke and Mirrors: IIT Prashikshan Kendra’s Dubious 2023 Results Ad
Adding to the unfolding narrative, IITPK’s recent paper ad showcasing 2023 results raises eyebrows with a questionable portrayal of JEE toppers in Pune. Students labeled as JEE/MHT CET toppers might only hold that distinction within IITPK, potentially not even ranking within Pune’s top 10 in JEE Advanced or JEE Main.
Claims of unmatched college placements are called into question when compared to Bakliwal Tutorials or M Prakash Institute, where more than 200 students made it to IITs. As per their own placement list, only 23 students made it to IITs in 2023. IITPk’s assertion of having the best retention ratio raises concerns, especially considering the unverifiable nature of such a metric in the context of Pune coaching centers. Similarly, the claim of the best success ratio is also true, assuming a 1000 students in IITPk; this year too, the ratio of students making to IITs is merely 2.3%.
Conclusion:
The information we gathered shows that IIT Prashikshan Kendra’s methods for coaching and preparing students for IIT JEE exams in Pune are concerning. They make misleading claims about their success, use questionable labels for top-performing students, and make statements that haven’t been verified. This raises doubts about how committed the institute is to being transparent and accurate. For students and parents looking for JEE coaching in Pune, it’s important to be careful and choose institutes that value honesty and openness in their communication.
