JEE Mains 2023: Important Dates to Remember

The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) to the NTA from 2019 onwards.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday had begun registration for applications of JEE Main 2023 on its official website- nta.ac.in. Interested applicants who wish to appear for the JEE Main 2023 exam can visit the official website to check and download the notification.

As per the exam schedule, the JEE Main examination for the first session will be conducted on 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 January, 2023. The second session will be held on 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 April, 2023. The last date to apply for JEE Mains 2023 is 12 January 2023 up to 9 pm.

JEE Main Exam 2023 will be organised in two shifts as per the official notice

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country.

For Academic Session 2023-24, it has been decided that the JEE (Main) – 2023 will be conducted in two Sessions i.e. Session 1 (January 2023) and Session 2 (April 2023). The details for the Session 1 (January 2023) are given below:

JEE (Main) – 2023 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

In the first session of JEE (Main) – 2023, only Session 1 will be visible and candidates can opt for that. In the next session, Session 2 will be visible, and the candidates can opt for that Session. The application window for Session 2 will be re-opened as per the details available in the Information Bulletin and will also be notified separately through a Public Notice. For Papers, Scheme, Timing, eligility and other information, candidates are requested to please check the Information Bulletin of JEE (Main) – 2023 available on the website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/

Important Instructions:

  1. Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) – 2023 through the “Online” mode only through the website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
  2. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. In no circumstances, candidates will be allowed to fill more than one Application Form. Strict action will be taken, even at a later stage, against such candidates who have filled more than one Application Form.
  3. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
  4. Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or Parents/Guardians only as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only. In case any candidate faces difficulty in applying for JEE (Main) – 2023 Session 1 (January 2023), he/she may contact on 011 – 40759000 / 011 – 69227700 or e-mail at [email protected]. Steps to fill JEE Main Application Form 2023:

  1. Go to the official NTA JEE Main 2023 website- nta.nic.in
  2. Register by entering the necessary details like name, email address, mobile number, etc
  3. Login using the required credentials and fill out the JEE Mains application form 2023
  4. Scan and upload the relevant documents as required
  5. Make the payment of the IIT JEE 2023 registration fee
  6. Click ‘Submit’ and download the application form for further use
