JEE is the most sought-after exams for engineering aspirants. However, majority of aspiring engineers appear for more than one exam in an academic session. The other top entrance exams apart from JEE Main in India are BITSAT, SRMJEEE, COMEDK, VITEEE, MHT CET etc. Many of them also appear for other examinations like KVPY, INMO etc during the course of their preparation. Some of these exams provide scholarships and some of them open new avenues for the students. Moreover, the students also get hands on practice of competitive exams during preparation by attempting such examinations.
In this blog, we shall make a detailed analysis of the performance of the students of the top JEE Coaching classes in exams like KVPY, MHT CET, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.
JEE Mains 2021
Last year JEE Mains was conducted in 4 phases and the students were free to attempt all the phases. The best score out of all the 4 sessions were then considered.
The top 3 Pune ranks were secured by Bakliwal Tutorials’ students. Naman Agarwal was the Pune Rank 1 with an AIR of 44 and a percentile of 99.998. This was followed by Jainesh Mehta and Shubhranil Chatterjee with an AIR of 132 and 176 respectively.
BT had 10 students in top 500 AIR, 20 students in the top 1000 AIR and 26 students who scored above 99.9 percentile in JEE Mains 2021.
16 of the top 20 Rankers from Pune were BTians. The total number of students that cleated JEE Mains from BT were 255.
The best AIR at M Prakash in JEE Mains 2021 was 214. They had 3 students who made it to the top 20 Pune city rankers list. They were- GeeteshKIni (AIR 214), Kartik Kulkarni (AIR 274), Anish Kulkarni (AIR 566).
Allen Pune has only published the results of first 2 attempts of JEE Mains 2021 and according to that their best percentile starts from 99.92 secured by Kush Shah.
They had 24 students who secured 99 and above percentile.
The topper at Prime Academy secured an AIR of 1475. Their total number of selections was 152.
The best percentile at IITPK in all four attempts was 99.9 which is approx. a rank of 900 and no other information about the JEE Mains 2021 result is available online.
JEE Advanced 2021
Allen Career Institute Pune
Allen Pune had the best AIR of 495 secured by Shreyas Grampurohit. They had total 81 students who qualified JEE Advanced 2021; 4 in top 2000 and 15 in top 5000.
Bakliwal Tutorials
Four students from Bakliwal Tutorials in Pune emerged as the top 4 Pune Rankers in JEE Advanced 2021. Here are their names and AIRs.
Soham Joshi- AIR 46
Naman Agrawal- AIR 81
Shlok Pande- AIR 94
Santosh Deshineni- AIR 99
They have 4 students in the top 100 AIR, 13 in the top 500 AIR, 25 in the top 1000 AIR.
That means 1 out of 40 student in the top 1000 is a BT student. A total of 251 students qualified in JEE Advanced from Bakliwal Tutorials.
Bakliwal Tutorials has more selections in the top 500/1000 etc. than all the other institutes of Pune put together by a significant margin.
Also, Arnav Kalgutkar from Bakliwal Tutorials secured AIR 1 in the general PWD category (AIR 383 as per the common merit list).
M Prakash
The best AIR at M Prakash was 102 secured by Ganesh Kini. They had 115 students in total out of which 80 cleared JEE Advanced 2021.
They have 5 students in top 500, 9 in top 1000 and 15 students in top 2000.
They do not have even a single student in the top 50 or 100.
Prime Academy
Their best AIR was 1005 and this was secured by Aditya Bangar. They do not have any student in the top 100, 500 or even 1000. They have claimed to have 66 selections out of which 17 students are not their full time classroom students and 13 are students who are from the reserved category.
IITPK
The IITPK topper is Advait Rege with an AIR of 357 followed by Priyanka Date with an AIR of 778. IITPK has not published their percentiles.
Their website mentions that they have attained a success rate of 20 percent however nowhere we can see the list of students and their ranks.
KVPY
The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.
The objective of the program is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their academic potential; encourage them to take up research careers in Science, and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.
SA Stream
The Pune Rank 1 was secured by Pratik Sahoo with and AIR of 22. He was a student of Bakliwal Tutorials.
This was followed by Allen, where the best AIR was 76 secured by Raj Chandak.
SX Stream
The Pune Rank 1 in KVPY was also produced by Bakliwal Tutorials. Soham Joshi, who is also the Pune Topper in JEE Advanced 2021, secured AIR 39 in KVPY SX stream. This was followed by Naman Agarwal with an AIR of 46. The Pune Rank 3 was bagged by Allen student with an AIR of 67.
The Pune Rank 4 and 5 in KVPY 2021 SX stream were students of Bakliwal Tutorials with AIR of 131 and 171 respectively.
Allen had total 25 selections in KVPY and Bakliwal Tutorials had 35 selections. Allen had 14 students in the top 500 AIR and 22 in the top 1000 AIR.
Bakliwal Tutorials on the other hand had 12 students in the top 500 AIR and 24 in the top 1000 AIR.
MHTCET
The MHT CET topper in 2021 was Aditya Mehta. He got a perfect percentile of 100. 12 students from Bakliwal Tutorials secured a percentile of above 99.9, 63 secured percentile of above 99.5, 102 students secured above 99 percentile and 362 had secured percentile of more than 95.
Suyash Chavan from IITPk secured 99.97 percentile in MHT-CET. No other institutes have mentioned their MH CET Results.
