What’s Going On at ALLEN Pune?

For years, Allen has been seen as a trusted name in the JEE and NEET coaching across India. But behind the scenes, a serious crisis seems to be unfolding — particularly in Pune, where the situation in their PCMC branch is raising red flags for both students and parents.

Recently, a mass resignation of top faculty members has taken place at Allen PCMC. Teachers across all major subjects — Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Biology — have either quit or are planning to do so. According to internal reports and student feedback, the primary reasons are internal politics, toxic work culture, favoritism and major salary cuts.

Here are some of the notable names who have left Allen PCMC recently:

Biology: Dr. Sangharsh Sir, Vijay G Sir

Physics: Shantanu C Sir, Sagar Sir, Vijay P Sir

Chemistry: Krishna S Sir, Prof. Vidyasagar Sir

Maths: Sarthak A Sir

These teachers were considered some of the best in the Pune. Their sudden exits have left students shocked and uncertain. In several batches, students have reported having 2–3 different teachers in the same subject within a span of weeks. Such instability in faculty has significantly affected the environment.

But this isn’t just a Pune-specific issue. Similar problems are being reported in Allen centers across India — including Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, and even Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Many teachers at these branches have resigned abruptly, citing poor management and declining morale. There was even a student protest at the Jaipur center, and the video of this protest has been circulating widely on platforms like YouTube:

One of the key factors behind this crisis seems to be declining admissions. With increasing competition from new-age coaching platforms and student dissatisfaction, Allen has reportedly suffered huge losses in many centers. As a result, there have been salary cuts of 30–50%, delayed payments, and a growing sense of discontent among faculty. The best teachers, naturally, are moving on to start their own institutes or join more stable setups.

Even the flagship Allen Kota center, known as the “Mecca” of JEE and NEET coaching, has not been spared. Some of its most legendary faculty — including Anurag Mishra Sir, CSS Sir, Dr. Dilip Arora Sir, and Manoj Kumar Gupta Sir — have left recently. This has further added to the speculation that Allen’s entire system is crumbling under internal pressure and financial strain.

What’s worrying is the lack of transparency with students and parents. Many students are unaware of the teacher reshuffling until after joining. Batch schedules are frequently changed, and doubt sessions are irregular. For an aspirant putting in a year or two of their life for a dream like IIT or AIIMS, this kind of instability can be devastating.

At this point, Allen’s brand name alone may not be enough to guarantee quality coaching. While some students still benefit from their structured materials and tests, the reality inside the classrooms seems to be shifting fast.
